The Watchest is an independent watch publication. We tell the story behind exceptional watches, and the price reality behind them.

Caliber over content. We cover independent watchmaking, haute horlogerie and the most interesting releases from established houses, with a focus on the people, the history and the engineering that make a watch matter.

Since 2015

The Watchest started on Instagram in 2015 with a simple idea: one watch, one photo, and its price in several currencies, so collectors anywhere could understand what it really costs. That format grew the account to 20,000 followers by 2018.

In 2026 we relaunched with a deeper editorial approach and this website, keeping the same honesty about price.

How we write

Every story follows the same structure:

The story: why the watch exists, who made it and what makes it rare.
The essentials: case, dial, movement, crystal and water resistance.
The price reality: the official price, in several currencies, and how it compares.

We only publish data we can verify, we credit every image and we clearly label paid partnerships.
